Beachin' at Bačvice

After a full morning of touring in Split, we decided a break was in order.  A beach break!  We had a bunch to choose from since Split is on the Adriatic sea but we didn't want to spend a lot of time getting there.  We ruled out the ferry to the outer islands and we ruled out the bus to the forest beaches, because both would eat up the time we had to spend at the sea.  Thankfully, one of the best beaches in Split is right in its city center -  Bačvice.  Known as the party beach, it is only a 5 minute walk from the Old Town, and highly accessible.  

We spent a good couple of hours there.  We climbed the rocks, jumped or climbed the ladder to the sea (no easy, sandy walk into the beaches in Croatia), swam and danced and had a few drinks.  All in all a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon.
