They Did!

After a morning and afternoon spent at leisure, we were ready for the fun and excitement that only a wedding can bring.  We were dressed in our finest...

And the venue was too...

We had a great seat for the ceremony itself...

And the tribute to the bride's brother just afterward...

The heat was unrelenting, even if the sun had set so the slushy bar was a hit.  And so were the tequenos!  I may have had more than my share...

And then it was time to really get the party started.  The band began to play and we all either danced or stood in front of a fan to try to cool off (did I mention it was a bit warm???)

And then the hats, necklaces, and inflatables came out and things got even crazier!  It was well after midnight at this point but you wouldn't know it by the antics of my children...

Somewhere around 1am these 3 decided that they wanted to perform a dance that they had been working on all night.  I was very proud of MadHatter for getting up on stage and conquering her stage fright.  I think they did fantastically.

Shortly before 3 am we called it a night (morning?).  With slippers on my feet and my shoes in my hand, we made our way back to the hotel.  And we ended the night by falling into bed still humming to the band we could no longer hear.

Getting Ready for I Do

We had less than 24 hours from the time we arrived back in Breckenridge until the time we needed to head back to the airport.  In that timeframe, I needed to do a jillion loads of laundry, pack a suitcase to head off on our next leg of vacation, pack 6 more suitcases to go to Florida with Nana and Grampa,  clean up the weeks worth of messes we had made of our rooms since arriving and somehow sleep.  Let's just say it was not the way to unwind.  But we made it and we made our flight to Miami the next day to meet up with B once again...(Fun  - or maybe not so fun - fact - we only got to see B for 12 days this entire summer).  Twelve full hours in Miami and we were once again in the air, this time to South America.  Yep, we were heading to Cartagena, Colombia for a family wedding!

You would think that once we hit the hotel we could relax.  You would be wrong.  Because after checking in to our hotel, we had less than an hour to change and get to the rehearsal dinner but first I had to stop and admire the view we had off of our balcony...

Standing in Old Town staring at the New Town.  I love this!

A bit of freshening up and a change of clothes and we were ready to go.  We walked over to the restaurant where we met up with the cousins (T is not excited to be the only boy cousin!)...

And B and I were seated all the way at the other end of the restaurant with the adults...It was almost like a date night!  If you were on a date with 90 other people you knew/were related to.

We called it a night pretty early as it had been a few long days in a row for us.  We took a quick pic and left the adults without children at a rowdy bar as we walked the streets of Cartagena back to our hotel.
Bride and groom with the neices/nephew and cousins.

Back at the hotel, we slept.  And slept.  And slept.  We woke late the next morning (after 10) and staggered our way down to breakfast just before it ended.  And I was so glad we did because this was my breakfast...

An Arepa - filled with ground beef, cheese and egg, deep fried and drizzled with a side of cream!!!

We finally had some time on our hands since we didn't have to get ready for the wedding until late afternoon.  How to relax?  When the pool view is this good, there are no other choices.

B and A - the groom!

 She loved that view!

More ridiculous good food for lunch!

The heat got to all of us but not all of us got to take a nap like this sweetie.
Some of us had to go get our nails done...

Nails and toes done it was finally time to get gussied up and celebrate!

Mr. and Mrs. (and Mickey and Minnie)

The wedding.  I don't have any pictures of the actual wedding, seeing as I was standing at the altar.  Those images will hopefully be available to view in the next few weeks, but I do have a few of the reception.  Again, I was busy enjoying myself, so I snapped only a few with my cell phone and a few more with the big camera but left the actual photo taking to the professionals.  I do have great memories of a fabulous wedding filled with family, friends and a lot of fun.  See below for the details...

It's Disney - of course, you knew the details would be extraordinary!

First Dance!

Mickey and Minnie showed up!!!

And then the party really began...

What a fabulous ending to a great wedding week!  Congratulations P and S and welcome to this crazy family!
