On Thursday, Stinkerbell's class hosted the all-school assembly. The theme of the assembly was their current unit of study - Sharing the Planet. The kids spent two weeks rehearshing their lines, learning the song, creating their costumes and putting together their presentations/posters on how we can all better help our environment. I was proud of Stinkerbell's dedication to her part of the assembly by learning her lines and making sure that she could sing their new song loud and clear. She chose pictures for her poster from the internet and then carefully worded her three main points. And she was clear spoken in her part of the class presentation.
When the day rolled around, she was a bit nervous. She said that she was afraid that she would forget her lines when she got in front of the whole school. I assured her that she had learned them well and that she would be fine but even if she did stumble, we all make mistakes, and no one would probably even notice. So, I sent her off to school full of "I got this" attitude.
And she was perfect. She said her line in the play perfectly - "Ah, there is no bin. Oh, well" {tossing her trash onto the ground}
We then caught a small presentation that the kids all put together on their iPads...

After the applause died down, it was Stinkerbell's turn to thank everyone for coming, give a huge thank you to her teachers and then hand it over to the Principal...If she was nervous you could not tell. She rocked it (and did stumble on the 3rd line but recovered quickly and moved on - and she said afterward that I was right, it was no big deal).
