MDW '18

One of the first things we signed up for when we started Girl Scouts this year was the Mother-Daughter weekend.  We have been attending meetings since before moving to Munich but we had never been to an all troop event before and we were pretty excited to see what all of the hoopla was about.  Friday afternoon arrived and we packed our car, picked up our friends M and S (mom and daughter from our troop) and hit the road.  A short hour and a half later we were being handed welcome bags and keys to our room for the weekend.

We made quick work of the unpacking and after taking a quick mom and me snapshot we were in the craft room.  Here we made bracelets, painted our nails and decorated our name tags (the clothespin on the brown bag above left).  We managed a quick dinner and then hit our welcome meeting before my big one went to the movie, while my little one tried to catch some zzzz's.  Waiting for the kids to fall asleep left us mom's in the hallway enjoying a glass of wine before everyone hit the sack in anticipation of a long day ahead.

The next morning we were up and at it early with a full morning planned.  After a hearty breakfast, we grabbed our packed lunches, split up into our small groups and headed off through the woods to the Falconry show.
Part of our BIS CC troop.

Our walking group!

She did not like the farm smell.

The view when we came out of the woods.

She wanted to know if I saw the resemblance...

We made it to the show and grabbed a seat with friends.
And then watched in awe as the birds swooped and soared above our heads, sometimes just barely.

We played Minute to Win It games...and looked a little silly while winning it.

After our lunch, we walked to the castle and took in the fabulous view with our friends.

M, A and I.

On our walk back we stopped to make a wish...

We immediately hit the craft room again to finish up our memory books...

She made me a necklace that said "Bezt Mom".  All of the S's were gone :)

While MadHatter played on the playground, Stinkerbell hit Zumba and I hit the shower because we had a dinner and disco planned that evening!

Before we could all disco we took a group photo (that is a lot of females!) and had each troop sing songs for each other.

The girls dancing at the disco - if you can even find them.

The Mom's took a break from the hot and sweaty dance floor and hit the bar before sending some very tired little girls to bed.  And then hitting the sack ourselves.

Sunday morning we all gathered for a BIS CC picture before heading back into the city.  We were tired, we were happy and we were oh so glad we came!
